We do not collect your VIN. A model-year match does not establish whether your individual vehicle is affected or has been repaired. Snapshot through 2026-10-11.
Results are official records from named sources. Coverage is incomplete. Match the exact model, batch and market, and confirm the latest instructions with the official source. A missing result is not a safety clearance.
NHTSA complaint and current-action window 2024-08-24 to 2026-10-11; historical campaign count uses the complete official pre- and post-2010 recall files acquired for this release.
What this means
The records were matched to the NHTSA make/model identity “Altec Am”. Each evidence type is reported separately.
What this does not mean
Complaint reports are allegations, not defect findings or a safety score. Counts are not normalised for sales, registrations, mileage or exposure, and a zero does not prove safety.
A loss of lower boom support during operation could cause the lower boom to fall, increasing the risk of injury.
Official action: Owners should inspect the cylinder and confirm that the cylinder matches the part number and serial number list. If the unit has an affected cylinder, the owner should remove the unit from service or replace the cylinder. If an owner chooses to keep a recalled unit in service, Altec will offer a kit the owner can purchase, and install at their own expense. Owner notification letters were mailed May 6, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3199.
Source snapshots: recall files 4 October 2026; complaint file 3 October 2026; investigation file 29 September 2026. Individually labelled archived records retain their older date.
