Hazard (official). A loss of lower boom support during operation could cause the lower boom to fall, increasing the risk of injury.
Action / remedy (official). Owners should inspect the cylinder and confirm that the cylinder matches the part number and serial number list. If the unit has an affected cylinder, the owner should remove the unit from service or replace the cylinder. If an owner chooses to keep a recalled unit in service, Altec will offer a kit the owner can purchase, and install at their own expense. Owner notification letters were mailed May 6, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3199.
