How to use this Towmaster safety index
Choose the exact model to keep three different signals separate: an official recall campaign, an NHTSA investigation and an owner complaint. Complaint totals are allegations and are not adjusted for vehicles sold, age or mileage, so they must not be read as a reliability ranking.
A model-level result cannot establish whether a particular vehicle is affected. Production dates, equipment and assembly plants can narrow a campaign. Always follow the linked official record and use NHTSA’s VIN checker before making a safety or repair decision.
