Official action: Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. A damaged transmission can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a damaged transmission can leak transmission fluid, increasing the risk of a fire.
Official action: Dealers will update the transmission ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 13, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 26LA01.
Incorrect detection of an occupant may result in improper air bag deployment during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Official action: Dealers will inspect and replace the front passenger seat frame assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed April 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated between September 17 - October 1, 2026.
