A detached carrier can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Official action: Dealers will replace the spare tire carriers, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 2026. Owners may contact Escape Trailer customer service at 1-604-703-1650. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on March 9, 2026.
