We do not collect your VIN. A model-year match does not establish whether your individual vehicle is affected or has been repaired. Snapshot through 2026-10-11.
Results are official records from named sources. Coverage is incomplete. Match the exact model, batch and market, and confirm the latest instructions with the official source. A missing result is not a safety clearance.
NHTSA complaint and current-action window 2024-08-24 to 2026-10-11; historical campaign count uses the complete official pre- and post-2010 recall files acquired for this release.
What this means
The records were matched to the NHTSA make/model identity “Chevrolet 6500”. Each evidence type is reported separately.
What this does not mean
Complaint reports are allegations, not defect findings or a safety score. Counts are not normalised for sales, registrations, mileage or exposure, and a zero does not prove safety.
An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.
Official action: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N242482680. Vehicles in this recall that were previously repaired under 23V266 will need to have the new remedy completed.
Source snapshots: recall files 4 October 2026; complaint file 3 October 2026; investigation file 29 September 2026. Individually labelled archived records retain their older date.

NHTSA says complaints are consumer reports. RecallRecall excludes narratives, VINs, names, contact details and locations. A crash, fire, injury or death flag is reported information, not an independently verified causal finding.
