Affected model years: 2025

In an emergency, first responders may not receive notification of the crash or emergency location, increasing the risk of injury to riders.

Official action: The electronic control unit software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed September 12, 2025. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Affected model years: 2026

Turn signals that fail to activate as intended increase the risk of a crash.

Official action: A dealer will replace the combination switch, free of charge. The motorcycle has not yet been sold and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on April 20, 2026.

An engine stall or failure of electrical systems such as the instrument display or ABS, increases the risk of a crash.

Official action: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters were mailed September 18, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 14, 2026.
