Hazard (official). The lithium-ion battery controller (LBC) may not provide reliable diagnostic results due to parasitic effects or fluctuations in circuit resistance, which can cause the integrated circuits monitoring the battery cell voltage to incorrectly detect anomalies. As a result, the system may switch to fail-safe mode while the vehicle is being driven, limiting engine power and preventing charging. If regenerative charging occurs, the fail-safe mode may turn off the main relay, causing a loss of engine power and a loss of propulsion while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of accidents. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
