Hazard (official). Missing welds can lead to platform joint failure due to fatigue or overload, resulting in the platform falling from the boom tip, increasing the risk of injury.
Action / remedy (official). Altec will advise owners to inspect the IJ26 jib for missing welds. If the welds are missing, the jib should be taken out of service immediately. Altec will add the missing welds or provide a repair procedure and kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 23, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB-3330.
