Hazard (official). A cracked weld may result in the collapse of the crane column when in use, increasing the risk of injury to the operator or others nearby.
Action / remedy (official). Hiab will inspect crane operating data and replace the columns as necessary, free of charge. For cranes that are inspected but do not require a replacement, Hiab will regularly monitor the column and replace as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. Owners may contact Hiab customer service at (844) 442-2911.
