Hazard (official). The loose bolts can cause steering system components to separate, resulting in loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Action / remedy (official). ZF will work with DTNA to inspect and replace the steering shafts and bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 20, 2025. Owners may contact ZF customer service at 1-855-228-3203 (US/Canada).
